The Challenge

How do we position the Roku 3 as the smartest, fastest way to stream in a market that’s rapidly shifting toward a cable-less home?

The challenge is to elevate what actually matters to everyday viewers: speed, simplicity, and control. We must convince consumers that Roku 3 delivers a better experience—not just better specs—through lightning-fast performance, an intuitive interface, and thoughtful features like voice search and private listening.

At the same time, we need to stand out in an increasingly crowded streaming landscape dominated by bigger ecosystems and newer hardware, while overcoming the perception that newer equals better.

Ultimately, the task was to make Roku 3 feel like the most complete and human-centered streaming solution—proving that for most people, the best upgrade isn’t more pixels, it’s less friction.

So through motion graphics and a high-energy script we introduced Roku 3 in a way we could capture the interest of our audience. We made it entertaining.
